Your Guide to the 40-Week Pregnancy Journey

Congratulations! This is the beginning of an incredible chapter in your life. At ToolRift, we believe that understanding the biological timeline of pregnancy helps expectant parents feel more prepared and connected to their growing baby.

How We Calculate Your Timeline

A standard pregnancy lasts approximately 280 days (40 weeks) from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). Our calculator uses the Naegele's rule as a baseline but allows for adjustments based on your average cycle length, providing a more tailored estimate of your due date and development stages.

Key Pregnancy Milestones

  • The First Trimester (Weeks 1-13): This is a period of rapid cellular development as the major organs begin to form.
  • The Second Trimester (Weeks 14-27): Often called the "golden phase," this is when many experience improved energy and your baby's movements become noticeable.
  • The Third Trimester (Weeks 28-40): Focus shifts to growth and preparation for birth. Your baby's lungs and brain continue to mature significantly.

A Message from Maggi Rogers

Hi, it's Maggi Rogers. When I designed this tool, I wanted to create more than just a date generator. I wanted a resource that provides comfort and clarity during a time that can often feel overwhelming. By tracking your milestones—from the first anatomy scan to the onset of the third trimester—you can better plan your prenatal visits and celebrations.

Always remember that "due dates" are just estimates. In fact, only about 4-5% of babies are born on their actual due date. This timeline is intended to help you stay organized and informed. For all medical concerns and personalized health advice, please rely on your primary healthcare provider. We're honored to be a small part of your journey.
